Another very basic construction. This is divided into two section one part extending towards the sides while another one covering the inner circle. Sections of this design can be found in various other designs, mainly to highlight the corners.

A very simple design. Mastering this makes understanding more complicated designs easier. It also helps us in improvising and creating our own designs.

The 'Yantra' design

This is a very sacred and auspicious design. This structure is called a 'Yantra' is considered to be prosperous and is used to inscribe sacred chants and place them under the idols of gods and goddesses in temples.
Though in a technical 'Yantra' the loops near the corners are avoided.
The design was used to fix the idol of Hanuman in Hampi, Karnataka. It's a unique temple of its kind.

P.S. The side design represents flowers. I must say it has been designed by me with some changes to the traditionally iconic styles.

A simple basic design, drawn around 9 dots arranged in 3x3 rows and columns.
Not deliberately but it happened that the entire design took the shades of Indian tri-colour and I'm glad it did.
These designs ought to be accompanied by some border, and in this case it was the flowers on either side.

Chariot of Sun God

This is the Rangavalli representing the Chariot of Sun God. The tradition is, It's made, in front of the thresholds, according to the Lunar Calander on the 7th day of the 11th Month which normally falls in the last week of January or first week of February.

Religiously it is an auspicious time, while geographically it marks the beginning of the change of climate in India when winter completely dies and Sun starts moving closer to Earth or rather Earth starts moving closer to Sun.

Though this is a simple form of Chariot even complex variations of the same are in practice from time immemorial.
